How to become an Instructor with Driving School of North Texas

Requirements

* High school diploma or greater
* Clean driving record
* No felony charges or convictions
* Good communication skills
* Favorable references
* Interview with Driving School of North Texas

Certification Requirements

To become a new in-car instructor you must compete: Driver Education I and Driver Education II.
To become a classroom instructor, you must complete Drivers Education I, Drivers Education II and Driver Education III.

Drivers Education I

* 45 hours of training
   Training consists of at home assignments, in-car observation, in-car instruction and classroom training.

Drivers Education II

* 45 hours of training
   Training consists of at home assignments, in-car observation, in-car instruction and classroom training.

Drivers Education III

* 45 hours of training
   Training consists of classroom observation and classroom instruction

Course Fees

Driving School of North Texas:

DSNT invests considerable time and resources to prepare you for your career with DSNT as a DE Instructor. An administrative fee of $75.00 is due before training begins and is non-refundable once training has begun.

Texas Education Agency:

TEA charges a license fee of $75.00 (payable to Texas Education Agency) when submitting your application after your training is complete. This is a "New Application" fee, and is one time only. Every year all instructors are required to complete a 4 hour training course (provided by DSNT for our instructors at no charge). After this training you will be required to submit a TEA Renewal Application with a $25.00 fee.
